2025

Open Solicitation – Period Closed

RioSol intends to allocate the project’s approximately 1600 MW of bi-directional capacity through an open solicitation and capacity allocation process. In order to be considered for transmission capacity rights, interested parties participated in the process by submitting a request for transmission capacity during the Open Solicitation period, January 6 – February 7, 2025. The process identified the preferred customers who will then negotiate and enter into a Precedent Agreement with RioSol. This initial screening will ensure that the preferred minimum standards for interested entities are met.

2026

Transmission Service Agreements (TSA)

Now that the Open Solicitation period is closed, RioSol is in the negotiation phase with interested entities. The negotiations will result in a signed precedent agreement with the preferred customers. The precedent agreement will set forth the key principles that will be included in the TSAs.

2027

Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT)

The RioSol line is bi-directional, and therefore the amounts of transmission capacity in each direction that are not subscribed through the open solicitation will be made available when RioSol publishes its Open Access Transmission Tariff. The Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) is a regulatory document required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). This document will be published at least 1 year before operations begin. The OATT sets forth the definitive terms for items such as project operation, customer interactions, service requirements, and transmission capacity allocation. If you are an interested party that was not selected as a preferred customer (or any party that did not participate in the Open Solicitation), the OATT will enable interested parties to submit requests for any available (or additional) transmission capacity.
